My final university project, coming up with my own brief based on a chosen problem to solve.
Problems:
Clubs are closing down and up and coming DJs and musicians struggle to find spaces for parties and events, platforms such as Airbnb don't allow parties and large gatherings.
Many closed-down properties such as retail spaces, offices etc. are unused and landlord are still paying charges and not gaining anything.
Insight:
The two problems solve each other!
Idea:
Platform called Vacant, bringing together party hosts and landlords, and adding value to unused spaces by creating bespoke and unique happenings.
Allowing landlords to save on costs and create an appeal to their property on the market, and earn some rent.
Meanwhile bringing life back into unused spaces, sustainably make use of what is already there, and giving something fun for the local community.
Visual imagery using disco balls to symbolise fun and partying also the lights and strobes coming off the disco ball bring life and light into the dark places.
A simple and serious design for the website to target the right audience.
